Neat Scanner Review
This Neat scanner review is going to cover the Neat Receipt scanner. I could also include the NeatDesk scanner but overall ratings at Amazon have been pretty low at an average of 2.9 out of 5 stars. The most recent NeatReceipts scanner has received 4.4 out of 5 stars but seems a little suspect since there have been only 8 reviews given and seems somewhat questionable.
The 1 negative review, listed at the bottom, seems like a very valid complaint and the previous Neat Receipt scanner received only 3 out of 5 stars with over 300 reviews.
In actuality it should be a Neat Receipts vs Scansnap by Fujitsu Review, but I’ve decided to review the Neat Receipt scanner here and the Scansnap S1300 review here.
By the way, the Scansnap S1300 is a far superior receipt scanner and costs less.

Neat Scanner Review System Requirements
The NeatReceipt does have some system requirements. As mentioned before, it will not run on a Mac computer but only on a Windows 7, XP, or Vista pc computer.
It also needs a Pentium 4 1.3 ghz or later processor with at least 1 gb of ram and 1 gb of hard disk space for installation.

Neat Scanner Review Actual User Reviews
This wouldn’t be a complete Neat scanner review without listing the customers reviews left at Amazon.com.
Here are some of the customer reviews for the Neat Receipt scanner, including the negative one at the end.
I received my Neat Receipt Scanner earlier than expected. It was packaged well. The directions were easy to read and the scanner works good.
- John H. Parton, United States
I gave the scanner to my husband as a gift for Father’s Day. He loved it and it worked great for taking care of receipts.
- Helen Cathcart, United States
The idea of saving my receipts by using a scanner sounds good to me, but I wasn’t sure if the Neat Receipt scanner would actually work for me. I bought it and am very happy with how it works. Most of my scans are accurate up to 90 percent. If I need to, I can edit it easily and quickly.
This has been an easy way for me to save a lot of time and store all of my receipts and papers.
- Jennifer L. Fee, Whittier, CA, United States
I regret that I actually bought this Neat scanner. The scanner itself may work but the software is horrible. I can’t run a back up on my pc with Windows 7. I can’t get it to run or uninstall.
I also can’t reach customer service at Neat. The website doesn’t have a phone number or an email address.
All I can do is return the product.
